Small Town Street Photography: Silverton, Oregon #4

The character of a small community can be found in the subtlest of captured moments.

As I wandered around exploring the historic town of Silverton, Oregon shooting street photography, certain visuals stood out to me that tell a story. Many small towns have an IOOF hall that make up this sense of community that is a cornerstone of small town America.

The sign is old as is the building it hangs from. Yet to me, this image says so much about a simpler time, a sense of a yearning for nostalgia that can never be had in a way as it was back then.

This image seems timeless to me as if it were captured in the early to mid 20th century.
